People typically hope and pray for miracles in the midst of crisis. And once uttered, individuals exercise faith and wait to see those events come to pass. Often times, these same people expect or assume rather that their miracle will happen in that the crisis will be resolved and the problem will be taken away.
I think when we do this, we miss the point. Yes, miracles happen this way and I'm sure that you have seen the hand of the Lord this way in your lives. However, when Nephi was commanded to build a boat, He didn't ask for Heavenly Father to take away the impossible. Instead, he asked the Lord where he should go to molten tools out of ore. He immediately trusted that Heavenly Father would provide a way for him to accomplish the task at hand. Thus, the miracle happened: Nephi, completely unknowledgeable and otherwise, incapable of completing such a feat, successfully built a boat and kept the commandment Heavenly Father commanded him to do.
Recently, Ryan and I came to the knowledge that the mortgage company made a rather large error, when calculating our escrow. This surfaced mistake now stares us in the face, demanding repayment of the shortage and DRASTICALLY changing our monthly mortgage payment.
When all options seemed to fail and we felt like we had tried every avenue, we turned to our bishop for much needed advice. At the end of his discussions with Ryan, he told Ryan to pray very specifically and further, charged him to watch for miracles, as we would see one at the end of the week.
Wednesday came. Thursday came. Friday passed. Then, Saturday. Last, Sunday. Our call date came on Monday . . . and still no miracle. . . . or so we thought.
That same day, I drove to the physical location of our bank to pay our first overly-doubled payment. Later, I received a call from one of the VP's of that company, who happens to be in our stake, with all of our options. Just a short time later, we also received word from the CEO of another bank, who happens to be in our ward. Still further, we received word back from one of the attorneys in our ward, who is also looking into our situation (If for some reason that falls through, there are eight others in our ward).
As we lay in bed Monday night, it occurred to me that Heavenly Father kept His promise, revealed to the bishop that we would see miracles. The problem wasn't taken away. No matter what, WF dished out the money for the taxes that were short in our escrow account (a legal error)/our boat, and we will have to repay them/build it. However, for the first time since we have been married, Ryan was able to address a financial problem of great magnitude and ask for advice and help from our bishop. This took a large amount of courage. Furthermore, he sent us administering angels in the form of friends and members of the church and professionals to help ease our burden. Is that not miracle enough?
I know He loves us. He gives us challenges He knows will try us, but that we can face and overcome. He teaches us. I'm grateful.

So sorry that happened we were litterally there three years ago. We owed so much and then they raised our monthly payment. It's been a long road since then, but we still have our house and we finally have paid off the large sum we had to come up with. Hang in there Ker!
So sorry to hear that Keri. Glad you guys are able to work it out. It's never easy dealing with that. We had the same thing happen the month after we moved up here and had to give the bank a large amount of money that we had not planned for. I hate that, and wish there was a way for the company who made the error to pay for some of it too...but it never happens that way. Hope you guys have a better week! Love,
