Water Balloons, Shaving Cream, and More

Lots has happened over the past few weeks. We seriously have a BAZILLION school events between the book fair and cookie contests, game days, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Days, breakfasts, water days, graduation, finals, and more. It's nuts!

Anyway, last night it was our turn to keep the kiddies for our dating swap. And we had a really wonderful and busy Saturday before that. We spent time at our friends' home, fishing and bbqing. The boys LOVED every minute of it! Matthew spent time with this same friend the night before at the movies, seeing Kung Fu Panda II.

Being as scatterbrained as I am at the moment, all I could think about was "easy." Keeping 12 kids under one roof for 3-4 hours needed to be simple. So . . . we COPIED the school idea from Matthew's teacher: shaving cream, bubbles, water balloons, sidewalk chalk, sprinklers, and popsicles. The kids . . . . LOVED it! Success!!!!

And we gave in. The boys are now sleeping in bunk beds. We promised our crib to some dear friends, expecting their first and twins at that. As a result, little Ethan will be moving to a bed this week. Sad day. My babies are growing up.

The other major thing that happened this week for us was that Ryan found out he will be teaching summer school. This is a HUGE blessing for us. It definitely came as an answer to prayer and in light of all of the layoffs of school teachers in the area, this was even more miraculous. We feel entirely blessed.

They grow way too fast, don't they? I'm a little (ok a LOT) behind on blogging, but have loved catching up on you and your cute little family :)
