Visiting Teaching It has hit me really hard lately just how important visiting teaching is. Without visiting teaching, the church would completely break apart. If you think about the hierarchy of any structure of an organization, there is absolutely no way for a president or leader of any kind to keep track of everyone. Our prophet cannot keep track of all 14 million members of our church, nor the apostles, nor the seventies, nor the general auxiliaries, nor the stake leaders. It breaks down all the way to the ward levels, and even then, the bishops cannot keep complete track of all the details of its members lives. Visiting teachers and home teachers are needed to keep the wards going. They watch over the Lord's sheep. They keep track of the details of those individual families' lives and see to that their needs are met. Further, they report back to the vt supervisors and compassionate service leaders about greater needs.
No one can take the place of visiting teachers. Without them, everything will crumble.
I'm grateful for the testimony I gained of this calling as a little girl by watching the example of my mother. I'm grateful to be a visiting teacher and to be visit taught. It's a blessing that has greatly impacted my life.
