14 Reasons

My Ward Family. I feel like Ryan and I have lucked out wherever we have moved. People are ever willing to extend themselves to help each other. The Katy 1st Ward is no different. This has been an especially difficult week for our ward. We lost a truly amazing man, friend, brother, father, grandfather, and disciple of Jesus Christ. We will miss you, Brad, and long for the day when we reunite. And the other thing was a fire. A family's home caught fire and destroyed most of the home. Can you imagine losing everything you own?
While all of these things have happened, however, the ward family has pulled together and great service has been rendered to lift and help. Clothes, money, childcare, food, toiletries, and much more have been donated. People have come together to help clean up the debris from the fire. Families have surrounded and rallied around Patty to buoy her up. Truly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing. True conversion motivates individuals to help others, to strengthen the feeble knees, to lift the hands that hang, to dry tears, to bring a smile, and to stop at nothing to help those in need, as the Savior would. I'm so grateful for my ward family.
